Perspectives in Electron Microscopy II

The second, follow-up edition of the Workshop held in 2019, which launched the electron microscopy facility at University of Trento and presented to the local research community the potentials afforded by the instrumentation and methodologies available. Co-organized by FBK/UniTN

This is the second, follow-up edition of the Workshop held in 2019, which launched the electron microscopy facility at University of Trento and presented to the local research community the potentials afforded by the instrumentation and methodologies available. Since then,
many things have happened, which often limited the research collaborations and interactions. We are now entering a time of renewed enthusiasm and, in this perspective, we propose this discussion event. It will be the chance to have an updated vision on the novel pieces
of equipment, electron microscopy related, acquired in recent times by the University of Trento and Fondazione Bruno Kessler. Secondly, thanks to the qualified contribution of invited speakers, state of the art methodologies and instrumentation will be brought to the attention
of the participants as inspirations and guidelines for future research.

This Workshop is organized on the 25th anniversary of the death of our dear friend and colleague Paolo Giordano Orsini. To him, who back in the ’80 fostered and encouraged the establishment of an electron microscopy facility and of expertise in materials characterization at the
University of Trento, we would like to dedicate this Workshop.
