Meno virus, più conoscenza | Less virus more knowledge

Activities at Fondazione Bruno Kessler continue through smart working during this emergency. FBK sets up the #menoviruspiùconoscenza portal with digital content available to everyone

(v.l.) In this time of emergency, the production of knowledge does not stop. All facilities of Fondazione Bruno Kessler are closed and activities go on thanks to tlework. From front-line research on the spread of the pandemic to all their other functions, in the science and technology, humanisties and support fields, over 400 people are working from home.

“In recent years,” the Foundation’s president, Francesco Profumo, pointed out,“FBK has invested heavily in smart working. Since research has no boundaries, thinking that it can only be done inside our buildings is a bit limiting. In this difficult time in history, our ability to be agile and our flexibility have allowed us to continue our work from home. An example that can be replicated by many other oranizations in our country”.

We have also set up the #menoviruspiùconoscenza portal, open to everyone, where you can find information on the international scientific studies of FBK researchers dedicated to the Covid-19 pandemic, projects by our social science researchers to study reactions to epidemics and pandemics throughout history, philosophical considerations on how the human dimension can help in situations like this, as wel as many digital contents for adults and children to use these days at home.

By connecting to #menoviruspiùconoscenza, visitors can download scientific tales for elementary school children and junior high school students, follow the lessons of “Building the future” for high school students, watch again FBK conferences dedicated to a lay audience on culture and current affairs with personalities such as Piero Angela, watch science pills, listen to interviews with researchers, take a virtual tour of the FBK labs from home and much more.

The section will be constantly updated with video contributions, podcasts and texts, all connected to the #menoviruspiùconoscenza initiative.
