The final event of the project will consist in a conference held in Siena aimed at bringing the most engaged speakers and attendees of the previous events together with practitioners, policy-makers, business representatives and, in general, stakeholders in the field of European security.

Seminar activity does not stop and continues online. Is it legitimate to speak of "science communication" in the centuries in which we usually place the emergence of modern science? Is it a nonsense or, on the contrary, is it the most appropriate starting point to trace a long lasting history? This is just one of the questions that a research project in nuce would like to answer, which aims to reconstruct the history of the practices of transmission of scientific knowledge from savants circuits to "laymen", from the 16th to the end of the 18th century. The historiographical and methodological challenges are numerous and complex: the oval table wants to be an opportunity to discuss them together.
