Almost 300 students (17-18y old) have attended the WebValley camps since its first edition in 2001. WebValley started as a regional initiative for high school students from Trentino Alto-Adige SüdTirol, and it is now an opportunity for national and international students to experiment scientific research. WebValley 2017 is about a brand new Data Science project: Sensors, drones, and deep learning for better food in Val di Non (June 18 – July 8, 2017).
The 2017 challenging project aims at integrating photos from smartphones with signals coming from a portable spectrometer, classifying them by means of Deep Learning, i.e. the technical revolution which has enabled autonomous driving. 20 participants will be selected among excellent Italian students and internationals finalists of INTEL ISEF, the global convention of young researchers’ contests.
