A European summit on AI adoption
The Apply AI Summit celebrates the first year of the European Commission’s Apply AI Strategy and closes the first European AI Innovation Month. It will bring together around 900 in-person participants from industry, institutions and startups to accelerate AI adoption in strategic sectors. The programme includes parallel sessions on sector adoption, panels on Frontier AI and technological sovereignty, and the first edition of the Apply AI Startup Award. The virtual platform, which can host up to 2,500 participants, streams some of the sessions live.
The “AI in the agrifood sector” session
The session takes place on 17 November from 15:00 to 15:45, in the third block of parallel sessions. Speaking for IT4LIA AI Factory is Fabio Antonelli, leader of IT4LIA’s Agrifood vertical and Head of the OpenIoT Research Unit at Fondazione Bruno Kessler.
At the stand: two tools, live
At the stand, the FBK delegation, made up of Fabio Antonelli and João Calisto, will show two tools live.
AgriAtlas is the open catalogue of geospatial data for agriculture. It brings together satellite imagery and data on soil, weather and crops, and is ready to be integrated into AI pipelines.
AgriBoundary AI, with a live demo, is the model developed by João Calisto and the FBK team that automatically extracts the boundaries of agricultural parcels from satellite images, with no need to retrain on each individual territory. The result is up-to-date, privacy-compliant geometries, useful for onboarding in FMIS (Farm Management Information Systems), CAP audits and route planning for farm machinery.

Why we are there
For us it is an important opportunity to present the work of the Agrifood vertical at European level, meet companies and potential partners, and gather direct feedback from those who apply AI every day.
