International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women

Event schedule
November 25 marks the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, established in 1999 by the United Nations General Assembly.
The “save seats” campaign, well-known at the national level, makes this void generated by often gratuitous acts visible and contributes to raising citizens’ attention. Cultural institutions, associations, universities and all places of culture can also help foster collective conscience that can be of great impact.
You have to put in your working areas, in the week from November 20 to 26, an empty chair with female symbols on it (a scarf and a pair of red shoes), symbolically reserved for a woman victim of violence, with the sign of the campaign inviting people to reflect on the subject.
“Seat taken” wants to be a brief moment of reflection so that the frantic everyday pace will not overwhelm the issue of violence against women.
FBK joins the campaign and will set up a chair both at Povo and at its city center headquarters – symbolically against violence against women.
