The technology is composed of a series of technological elements consisting of stacks (sets of cells), Balance of Plant (elements for managing fuel, air, water, electricity) and the balance between the different components<\/li><li><strong>Use of hydrogen in the heavy mobility sector: <\/strong>it involves the integration of storage tanks, fuel cells, batteries to manage peaks in electricity demand, an electric motor with related controls, solutions for vehicle safety<\/li><li>REDOX <strong>flow batteries:<\/strong> an emerging technology that allows the storage of electrical energy for stationary applications, with high efficiency processes.<\/li><\/ul><hr \/><h2><span style=\"color: #0567ae;\">Projects<\/span><\/h2><h4><span style=\"color: #0057b7;\"><strong>In the context of NRRP<\/strong><\/span><\/h4><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fbk.eu\/en\/extended-partnerships\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>NEST Foundation<\/strong><\/a><br \/>The participation in the <strong>NEST<\/strong>\u00a0Extended Partnership\u00a0<strong>(Network 4 Energy Sustainable Transition)<\/strong>\u00a0of\u00a0<strong>FBK&#8217;s<\/strong>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/energy.fbk.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sustainable Energy Center<\/a>\u00a0represents a strategic positioning within the national community of Universities and Research Centers in the domain of energy technologies of the future.<br \/>In particular, the Sustainable Energy Center participates in the Spokes focusing on Hydrogen and Advanced Materials, namely &#8220;<strong>Clean hydrogen and final uses<\/strong>&#8221; (Spoke 4) and &#8220;<strong>Energy-sustainable materials advanced<\/strong>&#8221; (Spoke 9), with a synergistic work plan between the two specific activities.<br \/>Participation in these two spokes help position the Sustainable Energy Center in a greater dimension of research and to strengthen the output of scientific excellence of the two areas.<br \/>For the\u00a0<strong>hydrogen<\/strong>\u00a0area, this becomes a priority element at a time when the area has become stronger in recent years in relation to self-financing and participation in industrial projects.<br \/>For the\u00a0<strong>materials area<\/strong>, with a greater research vocation, NEST represents the best opportunity to better position its expertise in a national network of collaborations and, in addition to developing new technological proposals, broaden the impact of the activities themselves.<\/p><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fbk.eu\/en\/innovation-ecosystems\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>MUSA Ecosystem<\/strong><\/a><br \/>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.musascarl.it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>MUSA<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0ecosystem priority line\u00a0falls\u00a0under the area \u201c<strong>Climate, Energy, Sustainable Mobility<\/strong>\u201d\u00a0of the National Research Plan (NRP).<\/p><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fbk.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/22_06_28-Scheda_ecosistema_MUSA_PNRR_MUR.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MUSA<\/a>\u00a0aims to transform the metropolitan area of Milan into an ecosystem of innovation for urban regeneration, intervening in different areas, from social to technological, to become a national and European model.<br \/><strong>FBK<\/strong>\u00a0participates as an\u00a0<strong>affiliate in Spoke 4<\/strong>\u00a0dedicated to the\u00a0<strong>financial sustainability and economic impact of innovation ecosystems<\/strong>, in the thematic area of \u200b\u200bevaluating the impact of public policies.<\/p><hr \/><p><span style=\"color: #0057b7;\"><strong>EU projects:<\/strong><\/span><\/p><ul><li><strong>CH2P\/SWITCH (EU): <\/strong>Development of technology for the flexible production of hydrogen and electricity from solid oxide fuel cells using methane-rich blends<\/li><li><strong>STARDUST (EU):<\/strong> collaboration in a lighthouse project for the city of Trento, funded by a H2020 Smart Cities call. It involves the development of new energy, mobility and digitalization solutions for urban systems.<\/li><li><strong>HYUSPRE (EU):<\/strong> a project investigating the possibility of a new use of the current natural gas basins as national energy reserves for future use with hydrogen.<\/li><\/ul><p><span style=\"color: #0057b7;\"><strong>Other projects:<\/strong><\/span><\/p><ul><li><strong>GREENERSYS (LG. 6 PAT): <\/strong>development of a new flow battery-related technology that provides for the storage of electricity for stationary applications to support the integration of renewable energy sources<\/li><\/ul><ul><li><strong>SAPIENCE (EIT Climate KIC):<\/strong> through the implementation of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies in the fields to monitor agricultural practices, the project creates a system capable of encouraging and rewarding virtuous behaviors for an efficient and sustainable use of water in irrigation.<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The issue of ecological transition requires the development of an energy system with new forms of sustainable generation and a set of enabling technologies, in addition to the waste reduction.
