Urban Data Science Bootcamp

Event schedule
The proposal stems from a collaboration at European level between Politecnico di Milano, TIM – Telecom Italia, TU Delft, the Amsterdam Institute for Urban Studies and Fondazione Bruno Kessler.
In Milan, for PA and professionals
This is a two-day, free admission mini-course, to be held on November 8 and 9 in Milan (and then in a second edition in Amsterdam at the end of the month) open to anyone interested in taking advantage of the potential of big data to the end of improving cities.
In particular, the course is set up for an audience that includes public officials, professionals, students, urban planners, and oublic administration managers. No knowledge of computer science or data science is required, indeed, domain knowledge is important in some areas related to urban management (economy, urban development, strategy & innovation, health & wellbeing, public order & security or others) and so much curiosity for possible innovations.
Lectures, workshops and hands-on sessions
The course includes lessons, hands-on exercises and interactive workshops to bring you closer to the challenges and opportunities associated with the use of new data sources, including data from social media, phone data, IoT networks, and many other sources. The possible data analysis techniques, their advantages and the achievable results will also be explored.
