The Hydrogen Challenge

2019 Global ESG Conference

La Lanterna – Roma

Via Tomacelli 157, Roma

How can the world eliminate net CO2 emissions? Today more than ever we need new solutions that, together with renewable electricity, can accelerate the decarbonization of the industries with the biggest environmental impact.

Snam has organized, for October 10 and 11 at the Fuksas Lanterna in Rome, a major event dedicated to the potential of hydrogen as a clean energy carrier in a context of increasing importance of environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors for businesses. The conference will be opened by Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte.
As pointed out by Fatih Birol, executive director of the International Energy Agency (IEA) – who will be participating in the works – hydrogen is the most widespread and abundant resource on our planet. In light of this, the challenge is to develop technological solutions capable of supporting a “sustainable hydrogen economy”, reducing its costs.

In particular, we would like to bring to your attention a round table discussion entitled “Hydrogen Production“, scheduled for Friday, October 11, 2019 at 10:30 am, moderated by Luigi Crema, Head of FBK’s ARES Unit. Mr. Crema will coordinate the discussion on hydrogen production techniques among representatives of major international companies such as Total, Engie and Thyssenkrupp.
During the event, FBK will also present its research activities in the field of renewable energy, placing itself as one of the first national research stakeholders in the hydrogen and fuel cell industry.
