Opportunities for European research and innovation, event at FBK in Povo

An information day on the "Spreading Excellence and Widening Participation" program and its new features in anticipation of Horizon Europe to be held on October 30

Sala “Luigi Stringa”, FBK Povo

Via Sommarive 18, Povo

The so-called “fourth pillar” of H2020, Spreading Excellence and Widening Participation, has the general objective of improving and increasing participation of the Widening countries in the new Framework Program for R&I.

The measures provided for in this pillar target all Member States and regions that could make their national R&I systems and networks more efficient and improve their performance in terms of R&I investment, while helping to strengthen economic growth and the competitiveness of the European economy and above all of the European Research Area.
The European Commission has repeatedly said that it is satisfied with this tool, so much so that it plans to advance a proposal to double the budget in the next post-2020 R&I framework program – the Horizon Europe program.

The event intends to emphasize the opportunity offered by the program for Italian players involved in R&I by stressing the role of the synergies between the funds in the implementation of the actions. One of the critical aspects of the program is, in fact, the request for a contribution to the so-called Smart Specialization Strategies and the active involvement of the structural funds.

The conference will help participants get a general overview of the program, its evolution toward Horizon Europe, and will provide useful advice on the preparation of a possible future project proposal.
