Connecting schools with the job market to combine knowledge and know-how and guide the aspirations of students. These are the goals of the Alternating School and Work Program introduced with the so-called “Buona scuola” reform. The instrument has provoked mixed reactions: enthusiasm on the one hand, heated criticism on the other hand. The seminar will discuss lessons learned in the fields of cooperation, research, business and professions. Trentino-based and national experiences, some new, others that have innovated already established learning methods, through which we will try to understand what the conditions need to be for the Alternanza scuola-lavoro program to provide a real opportunity to train the citizens and the workers of tomorrow.
Pierluigi Bellutti will present the DOMOSENS, project, part of the alternating school and work program with a special focus on the experimented training method. A project that involves the simulation of a company for the duration of the entire 2016-17 school year and sees the participation of 200 students from 6 Trentino-based schools, coordinated by FBK. The purpose? Offer the market a home air quality monitoring sensor capable of combining gas detection capabilities with a professional design that would make it a multi-purpose piece of furnishing.

Is the Alternanza scuola-lavoro program a training opportunity to enhance one’s competencies and increase one’s abilities? Does it facilitate one’s understanding of the job market? Does it help one to become the protagonist of one’s future?
These questions will be answered by students who will tell about their experiences in the projects set up by Trentino-based organizations (Domosens. Associazioni Formative Scolastiche and Tu Sei) as well as national entities.
