ITALIAN COLONIALISM IN COMICS. THE HISTORIAN AND THE SCRIPTWRITER FACE TO FACE

On Tuesday, December 1st the seminar organized by the Centre for Italian-German Historical Studies of FBK

(v.l.) Gianfranco Manfredi, scriptwriter of the series “Volto Nascosto” (edited by Sergio Bonelli from 2007 to 2008) and former creator of the western character Magico Vento as well as author of many of the stories for the Dylan Dog, Nick Raider and Tex series, together with Alessandro Triulzi, professor of History of Africa with the L’Orientale University of Naples, are the speakers of the seminar “Il Colonialismo Italiano nel fumetto” (The Italian Colonialism in Comics) organized by the Centre for Italian-German Historical Studies of Fondazione Bruno Kessler to be held on Tuesday, December 1st at 5.00 p.m. in via S. Croce in Trento.
The event shall focus on the encounter of the work of research of the historian with that of the scriptwriter and the analysis of how the memory of an event or periodi is conveyed via a means of communication.
The meeting, falling under the project “I linguaggi della storia. Letteratura, teatro, cinema” (The languages of History. Literature, theatre, cinema) of the Centre for Italian-German Historical Studies of FBK, shall be presented by the Director, Gian Enrico Rusconi. The FBK researcher Marina Garbellotti and Nicola Spagnolli of the University of Verona, the seminar’s scientific coordinators, shall also be present.
