Thursday, 26 November, the FBK of Povo (Trento) will present the results of the first year of the LIVEMEMORIES project

(v.l.) Creating archives of collective memory, using IT instruments that can incorporate texts, photos, audio files and video clips, even those taken from a diversity of sources which can change in time. This is the objective of the LIVEMEMORIES project (www.livememories.org), coordinated by Bernardo Magnini of the Fondazione Bruno Kessler and financed as part of the “Great Projects” series of the Autonomous Province of Trento, the first results of which will be presented on Thursday, 26 November, at the Sala Grande in the registered office of FBK of Povo (Trento), from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm.
One year from the start up of the project, research groups from the Fondazione Bruno Kessler and the Universities of Trento and of Southampton will be demonstrating to their territorial partners and the businesses involved the progress made in the project on portions of multimedia archives of Trentino. Some of the sources include the archives of Vita Trentina, L’Adige, the City Council of Trento, the social network Jurka.net and a number of narrative blogs.
To open the event, the director of the FBK Information Technology Centre, Paolo Traverso, with the President of FBK, Andrea Zanotti, will sign two partnership agreements respectively with RTTR and S.I.E., through which the respective digital archives will be made available for research in the framework of the project.

The workshop will be held in English, with Italian translation.
