Abstract
In 1959 Charles Snow, the British physicist - a novelist by vocation - published the first edition of The Two Cultures, that proposed the old issue regarding the complex relationship between sciences and humanities. Fifty years later, we once again tackle this topic with a discussion that will address three main items. The first is whether today we can still speak of open conflict between the two cultures or whether, instead, we are witnessing a truce; we will also attempt to establish which are the images attributed to each of the two cultures and, finally which are the possible future scenarios, with special focus on the implementability of inter-disciplinary cooperation projects.
