Friday 5 and Saturday 6 June, Fondazione Bruno Kessler organizes in Povo (Trento) the OSMit 2009 conference. On Sunday 7 June, in Pergine, a Mapping Party open to everyone.
(v.l.) On foot, by bike or by car, alone or in a group, with GPS or simply with a paper note pad. You don’t need special equipment or previous experience to participate in a Mapping Party, an event where individuals or groups of friends meet to map a place.
Fondazione Bruno Kessler, with the sponsorship of the Consorzio dei Comuni Trentini has organized for Sunday 7 June the third Mapping Party in Trentino, at Pergine Valsugana. If you wish to participate, simply join the others at 9.45 a.m. in Piazza Gavazzi.
The aim is to create a map by participating in the collection of data regarding known places or of public utility, accompanied by experts who will guide the marking.
The initiative is parallel to OSMit 2009, the first Italian Open Street Map conference, an international event aimed at creating a world map made with everybody’s contribution.
The conference will be held on Friday 5 June, starting at 8.30 a.m., and Saturday 6 June at the headquarters of Fondazione Bruno Kessler, in Via Sommarive 18 in Povo (Trento). It is intended to be a reflection on the active participation models of citizens in the production, distribution and use of digital original works.
During the two-day event, experts will discuss the themes of the everyday work of the Central Government, of businesses and of the teaching world by illustrating and discussing national initiatives and projects. Among the various topics, issues relating data formats, copyright, standard concepts, interoperability and accessibility of public geographical data.
