MINAP2012 (Micro and nano-photonic materials and devices) is an international meeting that will be dealing with micrometric and nanometric scale materials and devices, a scientific topic of great interest at an international level nowadays and on which several groups of researchers in the Trentino region  (CNR, University of Trento, Bruno Kessler Foundation) work with excellency results.
Micro and Nano-Photonics is a science that presents fascinating aspects both from a fundamental point of view and with regards to future applications in many areas ranging from information technology to health and energy.
The conference, in English, will be held at Povo from January 16 to 18 2012, at FBK’s site on via Sommarive 18 (Trento). This is also the final workshop of "COST Action", partially financed by intergovernmental body COST - European Cooperation in Science and Technology.
The meeting will be attended by about 100 researchers in Europe (only a small part of Italian nationality) and it is therefore considered a full-fledged initiative promoting European integration and unity, encouraging exchanges of researchers, collaborations between various partners, cooperation and coordination of relevant scientific activities especially in the field of advanced optical materials, photonics and nanotechnologies.
