What weight does the attention that newspapers reserve to history books have? Today, no one can think that we are dealing with a reporting that lasts just for a morning. In fact, in a world dominated by the media and the need of presence in the public sphere, the choices that newspapers make have an impact not just  on determining the success of a book or an author's reputation, but also on directing researchers towards certain issues, and even certain trends that seem most likely to be understood by the public.
To what extent are journalists "fabricating" the cultural pages of the newspapers aware of this? How accountable do they feel for the choices they make? 
The Italian-Germanic History Institute of the Bruno Kessler Foundation has called on some editors covering this role in some major Italian newspapers, to discuss with the new generation of historians working at the Isig.
At the conclusion, a round table with the directors of newspapers operating in the Trentino region, with the awareness that they are the main intermediaries who literally "give their account" to the people on the work and the results achieved thanks to the investment that the Trentino region community has made on FBK-Isig.

Che peso ha l’attenzione che i giornali riservano ai libri di storia? Nessuno ormai può pensare che si tratti di segnalazioni che durano “lo spazio di un mattino”. In realtà, in un mondo dominato dai media e dalla domanda di presenza nella sfera pubblica, le scelte che i giornali fanno pesano non solo nel determinare il successo di un libro o la fama di un autore, ma anche nell'indirizzare i ricercatori verso certi temi, per non dire certe mode, che sembrano più adatti a farsi recepire dal pubblico.
Quanto sono consapevoli di questo i giornalisti che “fabbricano” le pagine culturali dei quotidiani? Quanto sentono la responsabilità delle scelte che fanno?
A rispondere a queste domande l'Istituto storico italo-germanico della Fondazione Bruno Kessler ha chiamato alcuni giornalisti che operano con questo ruolo nelle maggiori testate italiane, mettendoli a confronto con la nuova generazione di storici che lavora presso l’Isig.
A concludere una tavola rotonda coi direttori dei quotidiani che operano in Trentino, nella consapevolezza che le loro testate sono i principali tramiti che letteralmente “rendono conto” alla gente del lavoro e dei risultati che si raggiungono grazie all'investimento che la comunità trentina ha fatto su FBK-Isig.Fondazione Bruno Kessler
